Our flagship initiative, SEVA HOME, is a "home away from home" for children undergoing cancer treatment at AIIMS Bhubaneswar
Our flagship initiative, SEVA HOME, is a "home away from home" for children undergoing cancer treatment at AIIMS Bhubaneswar. Recognizing that most childhood cancer patients come from rural, economically disadvantaged backgrounds, we provide:
Free and Safe Accommodation: SEVA HOME offers secure lodging to children and their families. This ensures that children and their families have a clean, safe, and supportive environment during long-term cancer treatment, which can often last up to two years.
Nutritious Meals: We provide hygienic meals and nutritional supplements (including milk, protein, and eggs) to help children maintain their strength during the intensive chemo phase, where malnutrition can severely affect recovery.
Parental Support: Mothers often accompany their children during treatment while fathers must return to work. Our model provides support to these mothers, ensuring they have access to basic needs and emotional guidance to care for their children effectively.
Handholding Assistance: For families unfamiliar with the complexities of the healthcare system, SEVA HOME staff offers guidance on everything from hospital admissions to accessing government benefits like Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) for cancer treatment costs.
